Rep. William Lindstedt

Public Servant | Community Member | Problem-Solver

Representative William Lindstedt proudly serves the people of House District 33 in Broomfield, Adams, and Weld counties.

He is running for State Senate District 25 to continue getting results for Colorado families.

In the House, William has passed dozens of bills to lower the cost of living, fix our infrastructure, improve our public schools, protect the environment, and make communities safer.

One of those bills created a first-in-the-nation middle-income housing tax credit to ensure our teachers, nurses, and first responders can live and work in their communities.

William was the 2023 Habitat for Humanity Legislator of the Year and has been recognized for his legislation to protect consumers from predatory practices.

In the House, he is the Chairman of the House Finance Committee, Chairman of the Legislative Audit Committee, and has served as amember of the Business & Labor Committee, Transportation, Housing, and Local Government Committees. William is the youngest committee chairman in the legislature.

William is a former assistant bench jeweler, public transit outreach advocate, community organizer, and former member of the Broomfield City Council.

During his time on the Broomfield City Council, he helped create Broomfield’s Housing Authority, authored municipal campaign finance reform to limit the influence of big money in local politics, and made it easier for residents to vote by adding additional ballot drop boxes across town.

William also served as Chairman of the Broomfield Transportation Forum and a Board Director of the Denver Regional Council of Governments.

William grew up in a broken home in Broomfield. His father left when he was a child, and he and his mother struggled. He put himself through college, sometimes working two or three different jobs at a time.

He holds a bachelor’s in political science and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver. He lives with his fiancée Bria, and their retired racing greyhound, Pax.
